new projects

neil is showing me how to stretch canvas - so we got to go the lumber store and use his power tools, fun! i'm not a great painter, or even a very good one, but i do have something in mind which should be easy enough for me and be fun to do.

i didn't even realize, but propercandy was sweet enough to include me in one of her beautiful treasuries again! i was checking my shop and happened to click on the front page and there it was!
"By recollecting the pleasures I have had formerly, I renew them, I enjoy them a second time, while I laugh at the remembrance of troubles now past, and which I no longer feel."
-Giacomo Casanova

bernie mac

heard tonight on fresh air, a Terri Gross interview from 2001 with Bernie Mac

"my mother began to laugh and cry at the same time. when i saw that, i started laughing with her. and i told my mom... that's what i'm going to be, mom, i'm going to be a comedian. so i never have to see you cry again.

at that particular time i thought comedians relieved my mother of her pain, and that's something i always wanted to do."
