charming

i'm so charmed by this song...

found on a fun (new to me) blog of bollywood songs... atul's bollywood song a day. i've found so many gems on there so far.

i missed my window of going to sleep early tonight, hope you're enjoying yours. i'm feeling pretty cozy right now.

here's a song i grew up with that is especially dear to me. i barely remember seeing the movie, but it might have something to do with why i love beards so much.

goodnight dears, xoxo

deep breaths

robert guest's daily letters written to his children.

beautiful and touching and strangely tied to recent events for me. i'm enjoying this with deep breaths, hope you do too.

dreamy

wishing i were back on the beach but enjoying sleeping in my own bed. it's still dark when i wake up for work. a lot of things are changing these days, but you just have to take it as it comes, i suppose. for now i'll just go along with it and see where it takes me. hope you all have a great weekend.

yes, it's true

it's true, i grew up in the back of an ice cream shop. my parents opened the shop when they first moved to the US and when they had me, they brought me to the store too. i remember playing in the back room, asking my dad if i could ring up people's sales and even trying to open my own mini shop, trying to sell the candles that we sold for the cakes.

my mom decorated all the cakes... and we had lots of little toppers and toys for them. i specifically remember the little ballerinas... endless hours of fun. so naturally, my heart jumped when i saw this photo by missamyo... you can find her an etsy also.

it was like finding an old childhood friend. now i just need a cone with one scoop of chocolate chip topped off with another scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream to complete the feeling.

ties

when i was in catholic school, part of the uniform for the kids under sixth grade was wearing a little plaid tie. i came across these and was so excited, just had to share. a little more grown up and fashionable, but wonderfully reminiscent of the old school days.

Birthdays

Tomorrow is Mister Rogers birthday, he would have been 80 years old. I think most people my age watched Mister Rogers growing up, and for most, hearing his voice is still very moving. PBS Kids has his songs listed here... I've spent a good portion of my evening going through them and listening to them all.

I feel very lucky to share the same birthday as Mister Rogers and I feel very lucky to have his show as a part of my childhood.

You'll find many ways to say I love you.
You'll find many ways to understand what love is.
Many ways, many ways,
Many ways to say I love you.
