hello holidays

hello blog!

well, with the move and everything else that has been new, i haven't been here in a while. in fact, i haven't had much time for the internet and so there hasn't been much to share. i try to keep this as less of a 'journal' and more of a 'weblog' so here are some of my recent consumerist obsessions (some of them obviously over-the-top):

oh, and lots and lots of toys for my new puppy honey

i've been pretty busy unpacking and getting things i need for the house... it's been several months and i still have boxes to unpack (oops!)

in the last few months, i've discovered...

llamas are beautiful
the beach is fun even when it's cold
i can probably handle going back to school
that i never realize how long my hair really is until i cut it all off
buying your first house is a lot of work but extremely rewarding (see how long my hair was!?!)

i have really really great people in my life

oh my, i just spent an hour trying to untangle fifty feet of chain and still didn't finish. this was all in an effort to organize my workspace. so what next? eating chocolates after you've brushed your teeth, duh.

today wasn't as productive as i had hoped... instead you can see some work from yesterday.

this weekend i was out shopping and found some wreaths made of silk flowers that caught my eye. i immediately ran over to them and put one around my neck... neil was sweet about it, but i'm sure they didn't look as nice on me as i thought they did... considering they were made for doors and not people

have you seen pashupatina's jewelry before? these amazing, sculptural necklaces seem to sell out minutes after she posts them. i'm still heartbroken that i missed my chance on the white necklace above. can't wait until she updates her site again!

hello blog, i've gotten into the bad habit of not writing much here and posting pictures instead.. i don't mean to neglect you, i promise! here's a new necklace i was finally able to photograph, for now i'll have to go to sleep early, i'm so tired tonight.

copper loves

an etsy first for me! this necklace sold just hours after it was listed... made for a nice bit of sweetness to go with my coffee this morning. i'm really enjoying working with metals with antiqued finishes and also loving figaro chains more and more.

after a busy week of blog fun and work fun, i was able to make something new. i'm falling for antiqued finishes on brass and copper these days.

i am so in love with this necklace from meeellla. Her jewelry pieces are truly works of art and are so complex and intricate. I may have to splurge and get one of these for myself.
